
Sage Love, is an award winning, Haitian born, Brooklyn raised Spiritual Filmmaker and Photographer. Love has written, directed and produced numerous short films over the past five years. His films are screen at film festivals both in the U.S and overseas and are currently streaming on indie SVOD sites such as KwaliTV and ShortsTV. Love creates films that challenge social norms and brings awareness to urban black communities; telling their stories with authentic representations. In the aftermath of the George Zimmerman trial in 2013, where Zimmerman was found not guilty of shooting unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, Love channeled all of his emotions to produced the film 'HOODY: The Trayvon Martin Experience'. ‘HOODY’ was screened at 14 film festivals in the U.S. and had an international premiere in Finland where the film won both the Audience and People's Choice awards. His photographies have been published on numerous indie magazine sites and his film continues to start conversations.
Currently, Love and his team are in production to finish up a 2 part documentary series titled, “New Panther: A Call For Action” Co produced and directed by him and Nola Asantewaa. The mission of the series is to cause a monumental culture shift by eradicating stereotypes and showcasing a collective of people focused on creating a thriving Afrikan community through self-determination, collective action and economics. The pilot have successfully sold out five independent screenings and have now taken the conversation to numerous institutions such as Brooklyn College twice, Medgar Evers, Hofstra University and The School of Visual Arts.
When Love is not making films he's actively involve in his community, organizing events to bring black people together. Love is a member and a business owner within, NOLA D Collective, a collective that empowers and uplift our communities by supporting local black own businesses and creating entrepreneurship programs. The collective provides local business owners with business resources, promotional and marketing services to strengthen the community through cooperative economics. NOLA D Stands for 'Nation of Liberated Afrikan Diaspora'.
